The Department of Accounting and Auditing was established by order of the Rector № 93 of June 27, 2002 as a result of the reform of the Department of Enterprise Economics. The department is a graduate, it trains specialists in the field of "Management and Administration" specialty "Accounting and Taxation". Since its inception and until now, the department is headed by Professor, Doctor of Science in Public Administration, Vladimir V. Malikov. The main activity of the department is to ensure quality and professional educational process and graduate students majoring in "Accounting and Auditing" in the training program for bachelors and masters. In addition to this specialty, the department helps to train specialists in "Business Economics", "Management of Organizations", "Organization of Transportation and Transport Management", "Organization and Regulation of Traffic", "Transport Systems". in all these specialties, the department provided the educational process in accounting, economics and finance. Since 2003 training of specialists is carried out without separation from production (correspondence form of training). Teachers of 17 departments of the university, including 4 departments of economic profile, take part in the preparation of students majoring in accounting and auditing.
Teachers of the department provide knowledge in 43 fundamental and professional-oriented disciplines, including the history of accounting and accounting, finance, money and credit, tax planning, accounting and auditing, management accounting, financial accounting, control and audit, financial management, accounting in foreign countries, insurance, etc. The teaching staff of the department is actively engaged in basic and applied research, working on the problems of enterprise management through financial and accounting tools in a market transformation. In particular, research is being conducted in the following areas: research of theoretical bases of management of financial maintenance of activity of the enterprise, methodical bases of creation of system of the organization of administrative accounting at the enterprise, selection and justification of indicators of the financial condition of the enterprise, improving the analysis of profitability of enterprises investigation of the mechanism of financial leverage, development of models of analysis and forecasting of sales of enterprise products in a market economy, analysis of the financial preconditions for the bankruptcy of the enterprise, assessment of the degree of risk in the insurance of construction and installation work at the road industry, improving the efficiency of credit activities of the enterprise in a market economy, management of financial resources of the enterprise, efficiency of interaction of enterprises with financial and credit institutions. In 2015, the department passed the state accreditation for the level of bachelor and specialist, and received a license to study at the "master" level. The validity of the certificate of accreditation and licensing - until 2025.
Licensed training is: 50 people at the educational and qualification level "bachelor" (full-time and part-time); 20 people at the educational and qualification level "specialist" (full-time), 30 people (part-time); 20 people at the educational and qualification level "master" (full-time and part-time). licensed volume for retraining of specialists in the amount of 25 people (full-time and part-time forms of education).
Bachelor: graduates of this specialty have basic training and practical skills for effective work in the field of monetary and financial intermediation services, insurance, ancillary services in the field of financial intermediation and insurance, real estate, renting, engineering and business services, services informatization, activities in the fields of accounting and auditing; business and management consultancy
Master's degree: graduates of this specialty have fundamental training and practical skills for effective work in the field of accounting and auditing as a specialist in scientific, analytical, research, planning and financial and organizational management, specialist in financial, commercial, investment and foreign exchange operations, international manager connections at enterprises of various forms of ownership with the use of modern computer technology, information technology.
Bachelor: financial services, real estate, renting, engineering and providing financial and accounting services to entrepreneurs, vocational education.
Master's degree: higher education institutions, research institutes, leading enterprises and organizations of the financial sphere, banks, holdings and financial-industrial groups.

Malikov Volodymyr Vasyliovych was born on July 14, 1957 in the city of Oktyabrsky BaARSR. During 1974-1979 he studied at the Kharkiv Automobile and Road Institute, where he remained after his successful graduation as an assistant at the Department of Industrial Economics. Then, in 1984, he was sent to a targeted graduate school at the Moscow Institute of Management, with which the institute had close scientific ties. After defending his Ph.D. dissertation, he continued to work as an associate professor of management, while acting as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business of the University.
In 1998 he moved to the Department of Economics and Organization of Production as an associate professor, and from the following 1999 he headed this department and until 2002 he was the head of this department. Under his leadership, licensing of the specialty "Accounting and Auditing" and accreditation of the specialty "Business Economics". In 2002, as a result of reforming the Department of Enterprise Economics, the Department of Accounting and Auditing was established at KhNADU, headed by VV Malikov, and in 2005 the specialty "Accounting and Auditing" was accredited to the specialist level.
In 2013, Volodymyr Vasyliovych successfully defended his doctoral dissertation and received the degree of Doctor of Science in Public Administration in the specialty 25.00.02 "Mechanism of Public Administration" on "Formation of mechanisms of public administration of economic development of regions of Ukraine."
Professor of Accounting and Auditing since 2015. Corresponding Member of the Transport Academy of Ukraine, holder of the honorary badge of KhNADU "For outstanding services to the university staff" III and II degree, awarded the badge "Excellence in Education of Ukraine", multiple winner in the nomination "Best teachers through students -excellent students of KhNADU ”, author of more than 150 scientific and methodical works on economics and entrepreneurship, including scientific articles, methodical instructions, other methodical manuals, including four textbooks with the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. For 40 years of scientific and pedagogical activity with his participation many engineers-economists and economists, specialists in accounting and taxation have been prepared for the economic complex of Ukraine.
The teaching staff of the department is constantly undergoing internships and advanced training in leading universities of Ukraine. Since 2005, the department has graduated about 800 graduates, accounting specialists, of whom more than 100 received diplomas with honors.
During its existence, teachers of the Department of Accounting and Auditing have participated in 380 scientific events, published more than 500 scientific articles (110 of them abroad and 7 in publications registered in the scientific metric database Scopus), published more than 280 teaching materials, 14 textbooks and manuals. 11 monographs, more than 20 author's documents were announced. Distance courses in the disciplines taught by the department for full-time and part-time students have been created.
